44 and wondering where the fun went..

by Mike
(Dartmouth Nova Scotia)

I'm 44 - Divorced, Father of 2.....my question is how to feel fun, I get it once in awhile but it never stays long,,,,,and when the fun leaves I can almost feel exactly when it does...things that were fun are not anymore...and nothing seems to come along with something new like when I was much younger.....hard to smile sometimes....

Noel's response

It sounds to me as though you are in a midlife transition. This too shall pass, but it can seem pretty grey while you are in it.

Some books you might find useful are my book 'A Harley Or My Wife', as well as Crossing the Soul's River by William O. Roberts, and Transitions: Making Sense of Life's Changes, Revised 25th Anniversary Edition.
