BF's loss of parent triggering mid-life crisis?

My bf's family is going through a difficult time as his father is dying, slowly but surely. He asked me for space, but not to get out of his life. May I ask him to see me to have sex (we never had any problems there)? He is hurting & only way he knows how is - alone. He is 47. I love him unconditionally. How do I help him?

You could ask him to come over for sex, but he may not be interested if he is grieving too much. Perhaps the best way to help him is to let him know you are there for him, and maybe let him know you are interested in being close with him if he is willing.
