friend in midlife crisses

My friend decided that after 20 yrs he is going to leave his wife. He told her he never loved her the way a husband is supposed to love his wife. They have 3 kids and they always seemed happy. His wife didn't see it coming and neither did anyone else. Is this the midlife crisis that you hear talk of.
