How can I get him back? I think I truly love and care for him

Question
My boyfriend came out of 20 years of marriage and saw me as the best thing that ever happened to him.
But lately he began finding faults with me, called me nasty things, and in a weeks time got involved with a 32-year-old woman who he thinks is very caring and brings him happiness.
He is 46 years old. I want to help him because this woman is all about money and throwing herself on him.
How can I get him back? Some of my friends are advising that this affair with the new girl will not last long and will fizzle out.
Noel's response
My guess is your boyfriend is looking for a mommy, not a partner. Perhaps the 'sparkle' of your relationship with him started wearing off, and now he needs a new relationship where he can feel special again.
Nobody deserves to be called nasty things, and it is a bad sign when you are in a relationship with a person who is nasty to you.
I don't know how you can get him back, but until he grows up, you might be better off without him.
