humps

My partner gets the 'hump' and doesn't say why, just goes quiet. It upsets me and I stop talking too. I tried to explain, wrote a long explanation letter saying what I didn't like and how I felt. He read it and still keeps it though it doesn't help to improve something. He says he gets the hump because i got the hump. I want him to initiate but he never does. I often run away from him.

Noel's response

I am not sure what a 'hump' is, although I am guessing it is something like 'getting the blues'. You don't mention his age, but assuming he is somewhere in midlife, he is likely feeling some confusion as to his future, as well as being in a mild depression. I suggest you ask him to see his doctor for a thorough medical, and perhaps a prescription for an anti-depressant, as well as maybe show him this website. Maybe he will recognize himself here, and find some useful information.
