I am a 49 year old man and feeling like I'm starving for attention

I'm 49 years old truck driver been driving for 30 years now. anymore I feel like Im starving for attention and don't know why. I have a great wife that loves me and I understand we have grand kid that she is busy with. in the past I was ok with taking the back set to the kids as they were growing up. but now I set here asking myself where do I fit in to my marriage and my family? some how I have lost my place and just don't know what to do about it. is this part of a mid-life.

Noel's response

It could be part of midlife, and it could be partly the 'stage' of your marriage. That doesn't mean you should not get some attention!

I suggest you talk to your wife about how you are feeling, and suggest you take some time together. Maybe a weekend away or something to start with.

Be sure to use 'I statements' (you can learn about them here: How and When to use I statements, and simply talk about how you are feeling and what you would like. Be sure not to blame her for the situation, but rather talk about how YOU feel, and what YOU would like.
