by andrea
(vermont)

Ok so i began dating my 48 yea old boyfriend and he had not had sex in three years till me now. he has a difficult time getting hard. he gets horny and starts to get hard but it doesn't last or it isn't all the way hard. he gets extremely embarrassed and upset. i think its all in his head and he thinks too much about it. anxiety maybe. please help desperate Andrea

Noel's response

Impotence can certainly be caused by anxiety about one's 'performance', but it may also have a physical aspect. He should see his doctor for a thorough medical. His doctor may subscribe a drug to help with it.

Seeing a sex therapist may also help deal with his anxiety.
