marriage

by C

My husband spends all his "free time" at a bar and not with me and his children. He says he isn't cheating but i wouldn't be so sure. He has recently told me that he is unhappy and needs time and space. He has always spent most of his time in bars but something feels different this time. I really think a woman is involved but i haven't been able to prove it. I try to talk to him to see what the problem is but he shuts down. I hate to give up and walk away but i don't know what else to do.

I am not sure what to suggest. If your husband is spending a lot of time in bars, I assume he is also drinking quite a bit (or maybe a LOT), in which case he might have a problem with alcohol. If that is true, I highly recommend you attend some Alanon meetings, as the people there will have a lot more help and information than I can provide.
