My husband and I have not had sex in the last 21/2 years?

by Marie
(New Jersey)

My husband is 41 and I am 45, we have been married for 10 years, and for the last 2 1/2 we have not had any intimacy? Is he going through a mid life crisis??

Noel's response

He is at the age for a midlife transition, but that does not necessarily mean it is the cause of you not having any intimacy.

Perhaps you need to talk to him about how you feel about the lack of sex, using 'I statements', and/or see whether he will got to marriage or sex counseling with you.
