Support groups for women?

by Berni
(Miami, Florida)

Do Support groups exist for women whose husbands are going through a mid life crisis? I live in Miami, Florida

Noel's response

I do not know of any such support groups, but you may well find some online. Google: "support group for women whose men are in midlife crisis", and you will find a variety of online groups and blogs.

You might also find some resources on my "Advice for Women" page.

Help me to cope.
by: Liz

Please help me to cope with my husbands mid life crisis. It all started last year when I found my husbands son that was given up for adoption.

He was very happy to be reunited with his son but that is when he began to change. He grew a beard just like his son. He dropped a 100 pounds. He has been spending money like crazy. And now he just says the most hurtful things to me.

He says he is not sure what is going to happen with our relationship. That he is very resentful towards me. Everything seems to be my fault. He resents the fact that I stay home and he has to go to work. He wants me to go back to work but I really want to stay home because I have two kids with autism and if I went to work my 14 year old daughter would have to watch them.

My children are really being affected by this, especially my daughter. I am currently seeing a therapist but I feel I am getting worse. I feel like a single parent.

Just dealing with my kids autism and seizures is hard enough. I feel so betrayed and hurt and alone. I have been there for him thru the good and the bad. I even found his son and this is what I get in return. It is not Fair!

I love my husband very much but I don't know how much more I can take. Please help.
