what stage of MLC when spouse say Iove you but not in love with you

My husband come home from working out of country and I got the speech I love you but not in love with you. He was very distant. Can you tell me what stage of MLC he is in?

I think this often happens in the early stages of a midlife transition, when the man suddenly finds everything in his life is changing. He may no longer be satisfied with his work, and he may discover he is no longer passionate about his marriage, or anything else in his life for that matter. He then may begin looking around for things that have meaning or excitement, such as a new job, a different partner, etc.
