The first thing I suggest is that you make looking after your son (getting child care, etc.) your top priority.

The second is that you NOT get into another permanent relationship (i.e. marriage) for at least three years, as that is how long, on average, it takes to recover from a serious loss such as yours.

I also recommend that when you begin dating, you NOT bring your dates home to sleep with them, as that can be very confusing and hurtful to your son.
