Why do men in a crisis, hold so much anger towards their wives.

My Husband of 44 years, is always angry and trying to control me, if the outcome of situations do not suit him he gets cross, and blames me.

I am not sure why men seem to have a lot of anger during midlife transitions, but it is very common.
